How to Register and Bid on Dutch Goat Auctions
Step 1: Create an Account
- Visit Dutchgoat.com and click on the "Login/Register" link.
- Create a Username and Password.
- Select a Preferred Pick-Up Location (currently Burley, ID or Lehi, UT) or select "Shipping" if you want your order shipped.
- You must be at least 18 years old to register and bid.
- Provide a valid credit card and verify your email address.
Note: We perform a $1 verification charge on your credit card. Depending on your bank, this may hold funds. We are not responsible if this creates an overdraft fee. Customers will need to verify their email before they can bid.
Step 2: Update Your Account Information
- To update your contact information and preferred pickup location, visit https://www.dutchgoat.com/account/edit.
Step 3: Browse and Bid on Auctions
- Visit our homepage to see the weekly auctions currently open for bidding or available for online preview.
- Auctions typically open each Monday and close the following Monday.
- Check our homepage and https://www.facebook.com/DutchGoatAuctions for the calendar of upcoming auctions.
Step 4: Place Your Bids
- Customers can bid on as many items at a time as they would like. Some items may require approval before bidding.
- All bids start at $1 and increase in bid increments of $0.50 until bidding reaches $5. Bid increments increase to $1, $2, $5, and $10 as the bidding increases.
- We offer proxy bidding, where a customer can place a higher maximum bid. The system will automatically increase their bid as others place bids up to the maximum amount specified.
Step 5: Auction Notifications
- To update your notification preferences, visit https://www.dutchgoat.com/account/edit.
- If you have been outbid or won an item, choose to be notified via text message or email.
Step 6: Auction Closing and Tiebreakers
- If a user bids on an item within the last 90 seconds of the auction, the remaining time will revert to 90 seconds. This will continue until no one else bids.
- If a user places a bid equal to another bidder's amount, the bidder who placed the bid first will be the leading bidder.
