How to Consign Items on Dutch Goat

What is Consignment?

Consignment refers to the agreement between you and Dutch Goat Auctions to sell your merchandise at our auction. After the sale, we are paid a percentage of the sale price, and you are paid the balance. Dutch Goat Auctions earns our commission by providing various services, such as:

  • Storage before the auction
  • Cleaning, polishing, and minor repairs, if required
  • Creation and cataloging of each lot
  • Professional photography and digital catalog creation
  • Advanced auction marketing on various platforms
  • Preview display setup and inform prospective buyers
  • Auctioning each lot to different types of bidders
  • State-of-the-art integrated clerking and invoicing system
  • Complete printout of consigned items, commission, and balance due, sent with your check 14 days from the auction date.

What is the Cost of Consign Items to Dutch Goat Auctions?

We charge $5 per listing for most items and 20% of the sale price. This amount is deducted from the item's sale price. If the item sells for less than $5, Dutch Goat keeps 100% of the sale price. Our consignment fee is capped at $175 per item, and lower fees apply for specific categories such as coins, real estate, and auto.

Can I Send You My List of Items Before Bringing Them into the Store?

We are working on a form that allows you to submit your items with pictures and descriptions. For now, you can email us photos of your items to CS@dutchgoat.com if you have questions.

Can You Come to Pick Up My Items for Auction?

We currently do not offer a pick-up service. However, we are working with a local pick-up (trucking) service to provide transportation for large items at a reasonable hourly rate. Charges incurred will be deducted from your consignment check after selling your items. We can hold an onsite auction for estates with many items to be auctioned.
